About me…

Born and bred in Yorkshire, I went on to study film at the University of Derby. After a year doing the mandatory tour of Australia, I took a position in New York at British creative agency Attik where I got to work with some pretty amazing brands. The agency delivered visual identity and campaigns in TV, press and digital for MTV, HBO, Discovery, Adidas, Kodak and a load more.

After all that fun, in 2002 I headed back to the UK to set up the creative studio Social in London. Over 10 years the agency grew and grew, ultimately delivering large-profile brand campaigns for the likes of Hilton, Renault, Capital, The Big Lottery Fund, Clarks and Habitat. Along the way, a film and animation department was added where I cut my teeth as a director on music videos, TVC’s and branded content. Which was fun. By 2012 myself and my partner owned a wonky, yellow building in Clerkenwell and had a team of 20+.

Seeking a leaner way of working, I sold my shares in Social and shortly after founded Slider, a streamlined creative collective focused on delivering results-driven, high level creative. Amazon, Netflix, Yo!Sushi, Hilton, Warner Bros, Discovery Networks, and Fashion Targets Breast Cancer were just a few of the clients. As a pretty passionate conservationist, I always tried to carve out time for pro-bono clients. Save the Rhino and Rewilding Britain were notable examples.

The agency really took off, but ultimately I wanted to try something different, away from the rigours of ownership. So in 2002 I took a role at Sky as a Creative Director working with a lovely team across channel launches, product campaigns and Sky master brand projects. The job was great, the commute wasn’t, so I decided to move on after a 2 year stint.

Experienced at every stage of the brand-building process – from strategy and creative ideation to production and post-production. Brand and visual identity, design and packaging, copywriting and art direction, TV, print, digital, and motion graphics. I’m now an independent creative director with an eye on what’s next.
