Pick was a free-to-air channel owned by Sky but not branded as part of the channel family. With the addition of greater range and more premium programming with extra Sky Originals and Exclusives titles to be included, it was decided we’d rebrand the channel and bring it in house.

Once we’d established the new name, Sky Mix, we were briefed to build an on-air identity that would do well to represent the large range of programming on the channel, from comedy to thrillers, nature to Sci-fi. The brief also stressed the need for the channel to feel premium and help viewers escape from the everyday, but on a limited budget.

We looked a number of creative solutions to help demonstrate the huge range of choice, but settled on an idea that used overhead drone footage from around the world to help reflect the places our content was made. We combined these environments and pieced them together to create unexpected moments of symmetry and unison, which helped reflect the new premium quality of the content.

With this we developed a graphic mechanism that would hep literally ‘mix’ these worlds together, adding fictional, narrative elements to bring greater theatre.
